Orbitas Field General Settings

The General Settings tab opens a sub menu displaying a secondary set of options described in detail below.

1. GENERAL SETTINGS
   1. ILS ( Integrated Location Services ) toggle ON/OFF
   2. Tap to Place function toggle ON/OFF
   3. Play Audio feature toggle ON/OFF
   4. Orbitas on iOS offers audio ques on certain functions and features within the app. 
   5. Automatic Photo Sync
   6. Debug NMEA
   7. X4i PPP feature toggle ON/OFF
   8. Orbitas Correct Reference Datum (Local/Worldwide)

Utilizing ILS (Integrated Location Services)

Upon install Orbitas on iOS defaults to using ILS and is turned on automatically within the GENERAL SETTINGS.

There are a few use cases in Orbitas on iOS where ILS will be ON.

• Utilizing a non Asteri GNSS receiver
• Utilizing ILS for quick locations where accuracy isn't a priority

There are a few uses cases in Orbitas on iOS where ILS will be OFF.

• Pairing to all Asteri GNSS receivers ( BLE and MFi )

Turning ON ILS 

1. Click on the SETTINGS icon and select GENERAL SETTINGS
2. Click on the Integrated Locations Services toggle to turn ON.
3. On the map screen you will notice a BLUE triangle

Turning OFF ILS

1. Click on the SETTINGS icon and select GENERAL SETTINGS
2. Click on the Integrated Locations Services toggle to turn OFF.
3. If not connected to an Asteri GNSS receiver, you will notice a RED teardrop on the map screen.

Utilizing the Tap to Place Feature

While the name of the feature is "Tap to Place", this feature requires a "long press" to activate the function.

Digitizing a Location using "Tap to Place"

1. Click on the SETTINGS icon, then select GENERAL SETTINGS
2. Click on the Tap to Place toggle to enable the feature.
3. Exit back top the main map screen.

Notice that the COLLECT LOCATION icon has a red border around. This indicates Tap to Place mode is activated. 

1. Now you "long press" on the map screen where you would like to digitize your location.
2. Enter in any appropriate information like you would with any other location and click SAVE.

"Tap to Place" locations behave like any other collected location. They can be edited using forms, GPS moved, along with other functions.

1. Repeat as necessary. 
2. To deactivate Tap to Place mode, simply click on the SETTINGS icon, select GENERAL SETTINGS, and again click on the Tap to Place toggle to deactivate the feature. 

Notice the COLLECT LOCATION icon has returned to its original state.

Utilizing Automatic Photo Sync

By default Automatic Photo Sync is turned on. This will allow Orbitas on iOS to automatically upload all photos associated with the current job that is being uploaded. 

Enabling Automatic Photo Sync

1. Click on the MAIN SETTINGS icon then select GENERAL SETTINGS
2. Toggle ON Automatic Photo Sync

Upon successful job upload you will notice the PHOTO UPLOAD STATUS icon will turn green.

Utilizing PPP with the Asteri X4

With the release of our incredible 965-channel Asteri X4i GNSS receiver was the addition of a no-charge precise point positioning (PPP) correction service included with the purchase of every Asteri X4i.

Enabling PPP

To utilize the PPP service on the Asteri X4i, please make sure to properly connect the Asteri to your iOS device running Orbitas. You can review the steps for connection here.

1. Once connected and tracking satellites. You can go into the main Orbitas settings, by clicking on the Globe and Gears icon.
2. Next select GENERAL SETTINGS at the top of the menu.
3. Use the  x4i PPP toggle to Enable PPP by clicking the TURN ON button.
4. Once enabled you will see the TURN ON button highlighted.

Disabling PPP

1. On the X4i PPP toggle click TURN OFF to disable. 
2. Once disabled you will see the TURN OFF button highlighted.

PPP service will take roughly 30minutes to activate in good conditions. Wait for the BLUE Icon to be sure of PPP service quality.

Utilizing Orbitas Correct

If you have an active and valid license of Orbitas Correct, Orbitas Correct will be applied automatically and there is no need to enter any credentials.

Orbitas Correct Settings:

1. Click on Settings, General Settings within Orbitas on iOS
2. The default and recommended Orbitas Correct Reference is "Worldwide" (WGS84). The Local Reference is NAD83 2011 and would be used to align with data that has been collected in the NAD83 2011 reference. 
3. Select if you wish to enable PPP (exclusive to the X4i) service or not. For more information on PPP refer to this article. 

Orbitas, or other mapping programs on iOS utilizing an Asteri Xi series GNSS receiver will have Orbitas Correct being applied.
